Over the past 20 years, Ray Dwyer, CPF, has been known as an individual committed to excellence in the field of picture framing.  He's earned the respect of his clients and colleagues throughout the industry as a professional dedicated to innovation,  perfection and craftsmanship. 

bulletRay recently finished third at the PPFA International Open Picture Framing Championships held in Las Vegas.
 
bulletIn February of 2006, Ray captured first place in the PPFA International Open Framing Championships held in Orlando, Florida.  He also received the "Judges Award for Innovation" which recognizes the creation of new and innovative framing techniques, the second consecutive time for this award, having also received it at the National Championships in Las Vegas in 2004. bulletRay finished second at the 2004  Professional Picture Framer’s Association National Open Picture Framing Championship in Las Vegas, and was presented the "Judges Award for Most Innovative New Technique in Picture Framing" as well. This was the fourth time Dwyer has competed for the national championships.  In the early 1990’s, his three other entries collected a third and two second-place finishes.
 
bulletWas awarded first place in the open competition at the Northwestern Regional Trade Show in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, October 9, 2004.
bulletOwned a successful gallery and framing business in Whitefish, Montana, for over 10 years.  Since selling it, two subsequent owners have chosen to retain the name "Dwyers.'"

bulletServed as President of the Northern Rockies Chapter of the Professional Picture Framer's Association (PPFA).

bulletServed on the PPFA Certification Committee, which authored the certification exam for the industry.

bulletChaired the PPFA committee which set the criteria for design, quality and workmanship as related to regional and national framing competitions.
bulletServed a three-year term as a member of the National Board of Directors of PPFA.
bulletServed three years as Northwest Regional Director for PPFA.
bulletServed as a judge for regional and national framing competitions.

bulletCollected over 40 awards for his design, creativity, and workmanship at regional and national Art framing competitions.

bulletFor the past three years served as the instructor for United Mfrs. Supplies Inc. Picture Framing Academy in Syosset, Long Island, receiving rave reviews from his students.
Despite his busy teaching schedule, Ray stays actively involved in the national framing scene, attending educational seminars in order to keep abreast of rapidly changing technology.  He also continues to compete as time allows, recently finishing second in the Open Framing and receiving the "Judges Award for Most Innovative New Technique in Picture Framing" at the National Open Framing Championship in Las Vegas 2004.

When not traveling, Ray can be found framing or teaching classes at his studio in the woods of Sagle.  Prior to entering the framing profession, Ray spent 18 years at the Atlantic Richfield Aluminum Reduction Plant in Columbia Falls, Montana, where he headed the Environmental Department as Senior Environmental Chemist.
